Schwinn Recall: Deluxe Bicycle Child Carriers
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission along with PTI Sports Inc. of Coral Gables Florida has issued a recall for the Schwinn Deluxe Bicycle Child Carriers. According to the report issued by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (USCPSC):
“If the seat is not fully seated on the rack, the plastic guide tabs on the carrier can break. If these tabs break, it could cause the seat to fall off. This poses a risk of serious injury to a child seated in the carrier.”
The USCPSC urges all consumers to halt use of the product immediately as several incidences of the carrier falling have already been reported. Consumers of the product sold in department stores and military exchanges nationwide from September 2004-November 2005 should contact PTI Sports Inc. for a free safety bracket and revised installation instructions.
