We have not heard of any accidents involving the Cannondale Adventure 400 that are similar to yours. Has anyone else had problems?

I have Cannondale Adventure 400. I bought it new about 5 yrs ago. Last Sept. I was riding down a hill on a newly paved road towards a biking/walking path/road in the Wissahicon near where I live in Philadelphia. I was just coasting when for no accoutable reason I started losing control of my bike. The front wheel was vibrating or wobbling. There was nothing in the road that I knowingly hit. I knew I had to slow down or I was going right into the woods. I also knew I wasn't going to be able to stay on the bike. Next thing I remember was trying to get up. To make a long story short, I was told that I landed on my head (had a helmet on) I broke my L wrist badly in three places, had surgery on it within 3 days, had a cracked rib (although that wasn't realized until later) and other lessor injuries. I was out of work for two months recovering. It initially never occured to me that there could be a possible defect in the bike but thought of it recently as I am thinking of riding again and plan to get the bike fixed. Is this just one of those accidents or have there been any other incidents reported by others?
