Easton EA30 Bicycle Stem Recall
Easton Sports of Scotts Valley, California, has recalled about 6,400 bicycles with EA30 bicycle stems.
The EA30 stems are black with white-and-gray graphics and feature a four-bolt stem face cap. “EA30” is printed on the stem. EA30 stems sold as aftermarket items are included in this recall.
The recalled bicycle EA30 bicycle stem can crack and cause the rider to lose control, posing a risk of serious injury if the rider falls.
The company received a report of a stem breaking, causing a minor injury to the rider.
Easton Sports is offering a replacement stem.

Head Injuries Prompt Novara Trionfo Bicycle Recall by REI
Head injuries and other injuried (face damage, broken teeth and clavicle fracture) prompt Novara Trionfo bicycle recall by Recreational Equipment Inc. (REI), of Kent, Washington.
About 260 REI 2005 Novara Trionfo Bicycles have been recalled because the fork can separate from the steerer tube which can cause the rider to lose control, posing a fall hazard. REI has received two reports of forks separating causing riders to fall. Again, injuries were serious, and included fractured clavicle, broken teeth, facial damage and head injuries.
The REI Novara Trionfo recall involves the following bicycles:
2005 Novara Trionfo bicycles with Aprebic carbon fiber forks. The bicycles are blue and white with black forks, and have the name “Novara” printed on the bars.
The recalled Novara Trionfo bicycles were sold at REI retail stores nationwide from January 2005 through August 2006 for between $720 and $1,900.
